women's shelter on a "salon on wheels" -
Cleveland, Ohio - June 28, 2007 -
John
Robert's Spa is once again helping those in need
by taking part for the 14th year in "Project
Daymaker", organization which aim is to provide free
haircuts and beauty care on a mobile salon for people
who are in great need of loving care - abused children,
battered women, and the homeless.
Founded
by Frederic Holzberger, President and CEO of Fredric's
Corporation, Project Daymaker is a custom-designed
34-foot Winnebago outfitted with three styling stations,
shampoo bowl, massage station and makeup unit that
travels throughout the Midwest region to homeless
shelters and treatment centers. The mission of Project
Daymaker is "to partner with individuals and
organizations to help build self esteem and self
confidence in the people they touch ultimately assisting
them in building a new and better way of life."
On
July 16, 2007, John Robert's Spa hairstylists will
volunteer their time from 4 to 8pm, and provide free
haircuts for a local women's shelter on the traveling
RV, at New Life Community, located 3470 E. 152nd
Street in Cleveland.
For John Robert's volunteers, Project Daymaker is a
great opportunity to help rebuild these individuals'
self-esteem and contribute in assisting them into the
work force. "Project Daymaker is a very fulfilling
experience", says Olivia Davis, John Robert's Event
Coordinator and Hair Designer. "In our profession, there
is nothing better than to be able to use your talents to
enhance the life of someone else. When we leave this
event there is such a feeling of pride knowing that what
we do on a daily basis can be the spark that gives
others new confidence and a great sense of being. It
really is a remarkable thing to be a daymaker!"
Their
involvement doesn't end there... The entire John Robert's
Spa professionals will have one of their famous Denim
Day on Thursday, July 5, 2007 to raise funds for Project
Daymaker. John Robert's Denim Days consist on allowing
any team member wishing to participate in jeans day to
exceptionally wear jeans to work rather than the usual
dress code if they pledge a contribution of $5 to the
specific charity. The donation is used towards fuel,
maintenance and accommodations for the driver.
