Runway For A Career
~ Fashion show to
benefit individuals committed to
impact people's lives ~
Cleveland, Ohio - July 23, 2009 -
In the past decade, Cleveland has
positioned itself as a fashion
destination, organizing each year
several fashion shows, events, and
black tie galas showcasing fashion
from local fashion designers and
boutiques. Fashion Week Cleveland
has been called
"...a
regional phenomenon that's become
the nation's third largest fashion
week after New York and Los Angeles"
by the leading industry publication
Women's Wear Daily.
Nevertheless, the show that will
take place at the BarRoom on August
22 will strike by its innovative and
creative fashion. Don't expect a
traditional fashion show. Expect a
unique, entertaining art show!
John Robert's Spa, a Cleveland based
salon and spa, voted one of the Top
20 salon in the country numerous
times by Salon Today and Launchpad
magazines, presents "White Night", a
fashion event benefiting the Stacy
DiJulius Scholarship Fund, created
to celebrate the life of its founder
(August 22, 1969 - March 21, 2009).
"White Night" will take place on
August 22nd, her 40th
birthday. Tickets are $40 to
coincide with her age, VIP tickets
are $69 for the year that she was
born. All proceeds will go to the
Stacy DiJulius Scholarship Fund.
The Show
The theme "White Night" was a
project that Stacy had previously
envisioned and talked about with her
sons, friends and team members, and
in her honor is being implemented to
celebrate her life. The whole idea
about "White Night" is to emphasize
having a vibrant, colorful life like
Stacy did; to live your life to the
fullest; to try everything and bring
excitement into your life.
The reasoning behind having
attendants to be wearing white is so
the color on stage really stands
out, and the attention drawn to the
models only, showcasing fashion from
Winds of Change Boutique in Chagrin
Falls.
This show is meant to be inspiring
on all levels, emotionally and
artistically. Each segment will
represent a facet of Stacy's
personality, inspired from the quote
from
Claude Thomas Bissell, "Risk
more than others think is safe. Care
more than others think is wise.
Dream more than others think is
practical. Expect more than others
think is possible."
This quote portrays Stacy's spirit
and energy, and will constitute each
segment with color combination going
gradually from light, pastel tones
to darker, more vibrant colors.
Segment 1: Dream more
Break away from the monotony of
everyday life. Don't let others
tell you what you can achieve in
life. Don't always feel like you
have to do what you are told or feel
you have to. Be creative, dream,
and put some color here and there.
Color: pastel, soft colors
Segment 2: Care more
Realize that there is always more
you can do, for yourself, for
others, and the world. Even
something small can make a big
difference. Stacy always thought
about others before herself. She
always loved to see others succeed.
Compassion is what makes life worth
living.
Colors: blues, greens, earth tones
Segment3: Risk more
Don't be afraid to stand out, be
different. Take people out of their
comfort zone. We all need a little
challenge in our life. Stacy was
always willing be feel unsafe and
take a risk and always became better
for it.
Colors: reds, purples
Segment 4: Expect more
Never lower your expectations. Be
bold and excitable. Expect more out
of yourself and others, knowing that
with that push we can all do amazing
things.
Color: Orange.
The Stacy DiJulius Scholarship Fund
Stacy's impact in people's lives and
careers, and her contribution as an
artistic icon to her team, make it a
necessity for John Robert's Spa as a
company to assure that her legacy
will continue. Because Stacy so
adamantly believed in and encouraged
education at all levels John
Robert's Spa decided to establish a
fund in her name, The Stacy
DiJulius Scholarship Fund, to
support others who, like her, had a
passion for the beauty industry, who
love to learn and inspire change in
the world, who truly want to enhance
the quality lives of others around
them.
The aim of the Stacy DiJulius
Scholarship Fund is to provide
opportunities to have a rewarding
career impacting people's lives. It
is for ambitious people aspiring to
make a significant impact in the
beauty industry. This scholarship
is designed to assist people who are
truly committed to having a long
term career as a licensed
cosmetologist. The scholarship will
be awarded annually to one or more
people who are selected by a
committee that determine who will
assess each candidate based on the
merits of the Stacy DiJulius
Scholarship Fund's criteria:
Risk More ~ than
others think is safe
Care More ~ than
others think is wise
Dream More ~ than
others think is practical
Expect More ~ than
others think is possible
