What is a Forever French nail?

Forever French is for those of you that love the French Manicure look and do not have to worry about polish. A Forever French nail is applied with pink and white acrylic with the look of a French Manicure and then buffed to a shine. If for some reason you would like to were red or any other color you can and when you take off the polish you will still have the clean look of a French Manicure. Maintenance of the Forever French is very similar to regular acrylics. You come to John Robert's twice a month and one visit you get a regular fill and the other visit you get a backfill.

What is a Backfill?

A Backfill is when the smile line "The white area on the tip of the nail" grows out and needs to be filled. We also fill in around the cuticle area during the backfill.

How long does your hair have to be to get a wax?

At least 3/4" so that the wax can adhere to it (better too long than too short!). Hair that is excessively long can be trimmed before waxing.

How long will it take before my hair grows back from a waxing service?

Each person's hair grows at a different rate and hair grows at different stages. Waxing is most effective when hair is in its actual growing stage. Most people choose to wax every 4-6 weeks. The more consistently and frequently you wax, the more effective and eventually permanent the hair loss becomes and the less uncomfortable as well. Hair growing back from waxing procedure is very fine and natural, not stubbly.

What is the difference between a Seaweed or Herbal Wrap?

All of our wraps are detoxifying, if you have any allergy to shellfish we would recommend you staying away from the seaweed wrap. Sea products are great for not only detoxifying the skin, but for healing and clarifying it as well. Herbal masks are very soothing to the skin and great for drier conditions. While we do not claim any weight or inch loss with our wraps, many people feel slimmer and more energetic after a wrap.

What is the difference between the Aqua Elixir and a Massage?

John Robert's Aqua Elixir is an exfoliating service done with dead sea salts. The products used for exfoliation are rinsed with a Vichy shower treatment or removed with heated moist towels. A customized oil is then applied to the body with massaging strokes.

A massage is a therapeutic treatment which can involve relaxation techniques, muscle treatment, and more depending upon the needs of the guest.

What is a Vichy shower?

A "rain bar" with 7 shower heads designed to hit the 7 chakra points of the body. The Vichy allows for products to be rinsed from the body while providing a hydrotherapy massage at the same time. During the process you'll feel a sense of weightless suspension as if you're floating on a bed of water. We recommend that guests wear a bathing suit for water treatments or our technicians can drape them with towels to protect their modesty.

What is the difference between a Spa Pedicure and Express Pedicure?

A spa pedicure is an hour long service. Your experience will begin by soaking your feet in a whirlpool jet tub while seated in a massaging shiatsu recliner. Working from the knee down, your legs, ankles and feet are exfoliated and buffed using both exfoliating products and specially designed foot files. A soothing masque is applied to the skin and removed with warm towels. Your nail technician will also provide a massage on your legs and feet using a product to calm, and moisturize your skin. Your toes are then perfectly manicured, nails filed, cuticles trimmed, and polish is applied.

An express pedicure is a 30-minute service. Your experience will begin by soaking your feet in a whirlpool jet tub while seated in a massaging shiatsu recliner. You'll receive a moisturizing foot massage, and have your toes perfectly manicured, nails filed, cuticles trimmed, and polish is applied.

The hair extensions do they use glue or sew them in, and does it feel real?

We have several different types of extensions available. Most popular is the Great Lengths method, which uses a special bonding agent to apply small sections of hair onto your own. It is human hair and feels and looks natural (the most common method used to create celebrity styles). The Great Lengths method allows you to brush through your hair, shampoo, swim, etc. We advise that you come in for a complimentary consultation with one of our extension experts to determine which method, as well as length and fullness would be most appropriate for you.

Haircut pricing, and options (styling)

Our haircut prices start at $40 for women. Haircuts include shampoo, conditioning treatment, stress relieving scalp massage and treatment, consultation, precision cut, blow dry style, hand and arm massage, and makeup touch-up (other haircut prices begin at: $25 for men, $25 for teen girls, $20 for teen boys, and $12 for children).

Why do some designers charge different prices?

Haircut prices are determined by years of experience, levels of expertise and education. Our designers are required to put in a minimum of 20 continuing education hours per year (5 times the state licensure requirement). Some put in as many as 100!

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the bottom of the feet with thumb and finger to specific pressure points relating to your entire body. This helps to relax, release toxins, and balance the body. It is believed that this is beneficial to all areas of the body for overall health and well being.

What are the Benefits of Reflexology?

Reflexology is used as a therapeutic treatment for a full range of conditions, including back pain, sports injuries, migraines, and arthritis. This type of therapy is even said to be effective in treating infertility, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, and sleep disorders. Furthermore, many believe it to be particularly helpful in the treatment of a full range of stress-related conditions. However, it is not a cure for medical conditions or diseases.

When should I do reflexology?

Reflexology can be done anytime. The key is consistency. A reflexology treatment typically lasts for about an hour. During this time, our Message Therapist use their hands, thumbs especially, to apply pressure to the feet. The amount and location of the pressure, as well as the effect of the treatment, is said to depend on the unique needs of each individual.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, that also promotes balance on every level - body, mind and spirit.  Reiki is a natural hands-on practice administered to a fully clothed recipient.  The sensations experienced during a treatment are: deep relaxation, soothing warm and tickling where the practitioner's hands are placed, physical and emotional stress relief and a general feeling of well-being.  Reiki is simple, natural and completely safe.  For more information.

What is Myofascial Release Massage?

The Myofascial Release Massage (MRM) is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.  For more information.

What is Texture Refinement Treatment?

The texture refinement treatment is a 2 to 3 hours new revolutionary treatment designed to eliminate frizz and curl leaving the hair soft, healthy and luxurious.

This treatment is gentle enough to use on all hair types, including colored and chemically treated hair.  This formulation restores and restructures hair by infusing a special blend of natural keratin deep into the damaged cuticles.  The benefits of this treatment are softer, silkier, straighter and shinier hair, easy and faster to blow dry and style.

This service includes a consultation prior to the treatment, blow dry style 3-days after the treatment, and a take-home shampoo.
